Default What have you done to make your TH350 survive?

Just lost 2nd gear in my TH350 during street driving. Went to shift to 2nd under WOT and it kept banging off the rev limiter. Just revs up in 2nd gear. Sounds like the intermediate sprag problem. I searched and some people found that TCI's intermediate sprag helps take care of the problem. ATI also makes the same thing for a good bit cheaper.

Think I could get away with the ATI intermediate sprag and drum and a standard rebuild kit? Bought this trans used and think it was on its last legs when I bought it.

A sprag style drum is definitely what you want. The aluminum drums are nice but very pricey. In most cases the steel drum will be just fine. The idea behind the aluminum drum is it is obviously lighter which in theory might help with your ET's by adding a couple HP.
