Default What's the right way to burnout with an A3?

I need a definate answer for both the TH350 and TH400. I've read different answers, but I'm not really sure which is correct. Is there a difference in the process if you have RMVB?
I've heard that you start'em in 1, and quickly shift to second and do most of it there, then come out in third. I'd appreciate any help/advice you guys could give me. Thanks.

you got the gist of it....if the power's there you'd be better off starting it in second up it to third and roll out....dont let the tires grab in third...roll it to the line

is this for the track or just for fun? either way u would want it in third..if u can start in second do that so u get to top gear quicker..i run my car into third at the track bout 100mph to get the tires nice an hot..but im still on my 4L60

I'm talking about doing a burnout at the track with slicks.

start in 2nd then quickly get to third, dont start in third. also, never let the car grab the tires in second

I asked the question in drag tech and those guys really helped me out. I was going to start in first but then realized how hard it was on parts shifting from 1st to 2nd.

I pull in the water, blip the throttle in first to roll the tires over wet. Stop, 2nd gear, light them up, click third, and roll out. Also make sure you dont shift into neutral after you make your pass, until the car is slowed down.

I just leave it in first to clean off the tires......I have a line lock. I usually hold it at about 4k for about 3 sec. then roll out.
