Default who can definitively tell me what it takes to use a 94/95 trans in a 96+

ive heard all sorts of different info, and its pissing me off,ive googled this to death, with no real results.

my trans finally decided to completely grenade itself, this was 750 miles after it lost 2nd and OD.

now since i lost 2nd and OD,ive been searching for a 96/97 transmission, with little to no luck, yet i find TONS of 94-95 trannys.

ive been told the following, any 94-97 trans will bolt right in and function perfect

i can only use 96/97 only

i can use a 95 trans, but the vss and housing, and the 3-2 shift solenoid need to be switched from a 96+ trans.

i CANT use a 94 trans..

who here on this board, can without a single doubt, tell me what the actual truth is? i need a trans, and i need one as of like yesterday.
