Default Which stall with 3:73's

I searched but no one talks about the gear ratio.. Which stall with 3:73's..Its not a track car..Street only.. And what would be the benefit of putting a stall in?

i have a 3600 stall in my 94 camaro lt4 and i had a 2500 and i never regreted getting a bigger stall. the only down side is gas mileage goes down quite a bit with a stall. I have a friend who has a all stock ls1 who has only has a 3500 stall and 3:73`s and he hit a 12.90 and he only has 310hp on the dyno. But if you have a cam a bigger stall will be real nice with a 3500 or around there. I have 3:23`s but my next thing is getting some 3:73`s or 3:90`s cant decide yet..

I would recommend a minimum of 3000 for a LS1. 3000-3200 is a nice stall for a DD and will still net some gains. If you go over 3500 it will make a huge difference. It will drop .5 off your ET or more. They are still OK for a DD, especially with 3.73 or higher.

Pure street usage with normal street tires? You'll launch a bit harder and have a big improvement on the 1-2 upshift.

Look at a 3600 stall with a low STR. If you get a high STR you'll spin at launch without decent tires. If you see a SuperYank 3500 for sale in the classifieds, buy it. It would be perfect but is no longer made.
