Default Went to track had some issues... Please help

I went to the track for the first time yesterday with my 95 camaro z. Mods are as follows....

CAI
LCAs
LTs into GMMG
Mail order tune
3:73s

I went up to the line heated up. I spun hard from first to second. BUT when it wanted to shift into third It seems like it hit the rev limiter THAn shifted. But the next run I left off at the top of second and than it shifted than I hammered down again. Any ideas? could it be the tune?? Or is my tranny dead??? No SES light

It has 120K on it...
BTW my best was a 14.1 with a best 60' as 2.1

Please help before I drop money on this...

Sounds like its in the tune. That's the problem with mail order tunes, there not as specific as custom tunes done while hooked up to hte car.

What would you have to change in the tune to correct this? Earlier shift point?

its either shift points, too much line pressure,or possible trans wear. I have had a similar problem with 1-2nd and was told to lower line pressure and shift points.

Update:

So tonight I tested twice and lift in OD the whole time at WO throttle and it shifted into third perfect and pulled REAL hard.... SOOO manually shifting your car effects that shift point or what?

It's best left in OD. Manual shifting will cause mine to bounce off of the limiter every time.

There is indeed a difference between a manual 2-3 shaft and the auto shift on OD position in that the overun clutch comes on in the manual shift and does not in the auto shift in OD , The causes the fluid used to apply the clutch sets to have to feed and addition item and can delay the shift to the next gear slightly. I have noted this is more on some cars and trans builds than others all things being equal. My suggestion generally if your going to shift manual do it this way,
Start in manual one and upshift to manual 2 but then just before the time that the PCM would command the 2-3 move the shifter to the OD position to prevent the overun clutch from being applied during the 2-3 shift.
