Default No 1st or 4th gear in new trans

My car was originally an A4, I swapped to a M6, that didnt work out now it is an A4 again. I just started driving it yesterday, but it does not have 1st or 4th gear. It has never gone into first gear (tested by putting the shifter in first, bring it up to about 5k then shift to 2nd). It will go into 4th gear, but only with my foot off the gas (shifted from d to 3rd off the gas and felt a shift, but under any load it goes straight to 3rd). Does anybody have any idea what this could be?
Any help is much appreciated.

Do you have a bigger stall in your ride? Check with a scantool to see if you're throwing any codes.

I found the cause a while ago. Just wanted to help out anyone who has had the same problem. I made a mistake changing the gear ratio in the computer. I guess it went into some sort of limp mode

Woops, glad you got it figured out and extra glad you had the guts to admit a silly mistake.

100% I beat my head against the wall with this one for a while. I never thought to look back at the speedo page in HPTuners. I even used 2 more credits on another ECU before it all came together for me. BTW the trans is a performabuilt stage 3. I am very happy with it so far. Looking forward to see what it can do at the track this saturday
