Default 4l80 t-brake users what filter!!?

i got the brake back from being worked by rossler and thought i would put in a fresh filter. i bought one from autozone ad threw away the old one

the one i got says TF304 T709. IT does not work! it hits the bottom of the moroso pan.

i havent read anywhere about a special filter, but now i'm stuck.

the tf304 has a shorter neck but a thicker body opposed to the one i took out having a longer neck and a thinner body (thin enough to fit between the brake and the pan.

thanks

You will need to get an early filter with the Moroso Pan. The late filter with the dimples on it does not fit(98 and later). You need the one that is completely flat. Try to get one for a 93-97 model year IIRC. Also make sure that the filter is in the proper location over the manifold switch/brake body. BTW that Moroso pan looks sweat!

What problems did you have with the brake? Vince

i did not like the 3 count before it kicks in. so he had me remove a ball and he did something to the plate and the brake itself.

thanks for the tip, ill see how that turns out!

Thanks for the reply. I will have to get the updated directions the next time I talk to Carl. I have noticed the delay on the dyno as well. Good to hear that he is improving on it. Let us know if it is better when you get it done. Thanks. Vince

FWIW, it says Rossler's website that he uses an Allison filter conversion on his 4l80s. Maybe that is what was on yours.

TF301 is correct (early model 4l80 filter) it looks just like the one i took out w/out the dimples on the bottom
