tranny temp sensder for aftermarket gauge question

Default tranny temp sensder for aftermarket gauge question

is it wise to put the temp sender into the cooler lines as apossed to drilling and tapping the pan.

I put mine on the pressure port it works great, the highest it got was about 220 degrees but I installed a tranny cooler and I havent seen it go over 170.

i wouldn't tap the pan its too thin. pull it and weld a bung on the outside and screw it in. piece o cake.

no its on a th350 with a cast aluminum pan

What im trying to find out is the best possiable plce to get a reading. Either it be the pan or the return line from the cooler.

i say pan....best average temp.
