Default TH400 Question

im doing some research on getting a TH400 in my LT1 Formula. What i need to know is all TH400 the same, cuz im wondering if i bought a used 400 that wasnt used in a LT1 car would it still work ?

and since im on the topic what other kind of transmission are good for drag racing but have an overdrive gear that fits a 94 LT1 ?

The main reason why im asking is i have blown my 3rd&4th clutch pack up about 4 time in my 4L60E and im tired of it.

any help would be apperciated.... i tired a search but no really good information to answer my question.

you can find used th400 all over the place the place that built mine told me it would only cost me 200 bucks for a core that they provided,but i found one for 50 bucks

id save the hassel and get it built still, 1000 bucks and your good to go

Actually you might be surprised... typically it is less than $125.00 to ship an automatic from D/FW to either Coast.
