Another which converter to get post...
So I'm in the market for a converter for my '98 z28... From what I've read everyone goes with Yank and Vigilante converters...
My car is a heads/cam setup with stock 3.23's but I plan on going 3.73 once funds pick up along with picking up the new converter.
This is my daily driver so I was thinking of a Yank3600 since I don't want too much for the daily drivability, but I want enough for the track
I have a stock trans and I plan on putting a B&M Supercooler to keep it running at optimal temps so it doesn't overheat if I get stuck in traffic...
What are you guys opinions. I'm thinking a Yank3600 with 3.73's would work well enough for a daily driven street/strip car.
Opinions, complaints, different ideas?

Yes I've heard the Vig's were very good converters as well... I heard they are a little underrated so the 3200 is a little higher than advertised?
This is a daily driver car and I do run people from both digs and rolls (yes fail but some people can't drive or don't want to self destruct their 10 bolts) and I go to the 1/8th mile track a couple times a month and maybe the 1/4 once a month or so...
I need a good street/strip setup is what I'm saying.
So far I'm looking at the Yank and the Vig.

Please don't cut corners in this area.
Call Chris at Circle D and you'll never look back.
You will thank me later. It's the best mod for the $$$, but going with a quality unit will save you a ton of time and $$$
Been there and done that.
I say that because they have continously proven themselves and I pulled 1.37 60fts with an extremely tight streetable 4500 Circle D converter this weekend in +2200 DA air.
It just doesn't get any better IMHO.

I will definitely give him a call and see what he says...
Any more ideas?
I think I'm going to go with a lower stall, more like around 3200 or so... I need to figure out the rest of my setup at the moment.

If it's a Vig. then maybe a 3200, they are slightly under rated. Don't get one that has to low of a stall. You'll kick yourself in the *** later. I could of gone bigger than the SS3600 if I didn't plan on spraying a little under the stall rating to help raise it.

You need a Yank PT4000....4400 might be a little bigger than what you're wanting. The PT converters hit hard as hell off the line and pull like there's no tomorrow on the top-end. I had an SS4000 before this and it was a great street converter, but didn't come close to the PT on the top-end. The PT will be the last converter you'll ever want. Plus, don't forget Yanks full 3-year replacement warranty. Can't beat it. This PT 4400 is my third converter, and it's the baddest by far.

I run an EDGE 3200 its not the most popular converter on this site but its a great reliable converter. There a little bit cheeper than yank and vig. Also it comes with a one year warenty so if you decide you dont like it just send it back no questions asked. Call uhm up and talk to andrea. He will answer all your questions and build a converter to your specs.

Had a SS3600 for about a year and loved it...Stepping up to a YANK SS4000 Since I had H/C installed. Putting out 471 hp and 406 TQ to the ground now. The 4000 should not be so tight as the 3600 is now. Good Luck!!!
