Default At the end of the road.. HELP

Ok I have no idea what else to do with my Camaro.. Me and a buddy did a LS1 swap into my 95 automatic Z28. Engine and transmission came from a 98 T/A. Swapped everything over and wired it ourselves, cranked the car, and it takes off in 3rd,no 1st gear, and no WOT....
Well i ended up messing up one tranny, so i had it rebuilt, installed it, and i'm STILL having the same problems! So i figured my wiring was wrong somewhere, so off the harness to Speartech it went! Get the harness back, wire it up AGAIN....yep you got.. Same crap! Whats going wrong? Would a bad vaccum cause it to run crappy like that? I can take off in 2nd gear with a little lag but it has no power at all! My grounds are secure behind the head so i know thats not my problem.... Any help here would be greatly appreciated!!!

If your allways in 3rd gear your in limp mode this means either theres a fault code in the PCM or possibly theres not power to PIN E on the trans harness , You definaley are dealing with and electronics issue.
First thing .
ARE THERE ANY CODES IN THE PCM?
IS THERE 12V ON PIN E OF THE TRANS HARNESS ?

Yeah i'm always in 3rd gear everytime i take off in drive or overdrive. I'm gonna run down and see if i get any codes to pop up tomorrow at Autozone.... I know, i know but its free! haha So do i just take a test light to pin E? and where is pin E exactly so i can find it. Thanks for the info! I'll keep everybody informed on what the codes say if theres any codes.... By chance, if dont have power to pin E, what do i do?

got the codes read today... only 2 popped up.
P0405
P0452

EGR was removed so most likely thats why it came up. But air was removed and no codes. Will limp mode throw a code?

I would check that you have power to PIN E in the trans harness connector and check fuses

didn't have the right tool to test the exact volts(lost it)) But i did get a test light and ended up getting something off of Pin E. If i'm getting 12 volts, what next?

Do you have the ability to hook a scanner to the car and watch data, What your describing is limp mode so you should be able to watch what if any gears are being commanded by the PCM it is very odd though you would always be in third gear yet with no trans codes, One question the LSX PCM your using is it from and automatic car ?

I dont have a scanner to watch the data. I would have to ask around to see if anyone close by has one but doubtful being in a small *** town. but yes the engine, transmission, computer, and wiring came from a donor 98 Trans Am that a guy let me completely strip down for $1800. I thought it was weird too that I didnt get any codes from the transmission. How long will the codes stay cleared after the battery is disconnected? I had a burnt starter wire issue and had the battery disconnected until the wire was replaced but ran the car roughly 4-5 miles to go get the codes looked at. I'm lost

in five miles always in 3rd gear unless alot of code reporting has been turned off in the tune there should be some codes set.
Just a curiousity try this since its allready in limp mode , Unplug the harness from the trans and then start the car and see if there are any codes, There should be one for every solenoid in the trans if not I would suspect theres and issue with the PCM

Hey I am not sure how far you are from this guy we don't always in fact most times not see eye to eye but as I like to try and get people problems solved if your close perhaps you should go and see him his name is gilbert at ACE trans your issue is such it needs a one on one approach I cannot supply online and from reading he seems a smart guy overall . I will be glad to help you all I can if hes is not close "big state" but if he is contact him and I am quiet sure he will do everything he can to help you in person just as I would if you were closer to me, If not holler and I will work with you to solve this issue in every way I can, but what we could spend weeks online solving he may be able to figure out in a few minutes being there in person makes things alot easier sometimes but in any case keep me posted
Frank

Ratchthed this is his LS1TECH name

Hey Frank, finally figured out my issue with limp mode.... My red connector at the PCM had a couple of bent pins that wasn't getting a good connection. So I straightened em back up, cranked it up, and almost broke my neck when i floored it.
