Default Opportunity to get a running th350 for $50, Need some advice!

I've searched and found a lot of great information on th350's. These brought me to my next question. I have an opportunity to get a running and driving th350 for only $50. It was rebuilt 25k miles ago and even comes with a 9" tailshaft! I'm going to be about 550 turbocharged rwhp, maybe 600ish torque. I was wondering what parts I could order to get the transmission strong enough to hold this power? I know it would need the pilot spacer thingy and a new converter. I would like mvb and all of that jazz but from there I literally know nothing about transmissions. I've read some stuff on sprags and bands and clutches and yeah....I'm lost. Any input would be great!!! Thanks!

I talked to the guy i'm buying it from today. he said it was taken out of a van with an upgraded motor and it shifted flawlessly when taken out. He said it was gone over and "cleaned up", any bad stuff replaced. he said it would be a perfect project to build from seeing as nothign is currently wrong with it. Any advice on what to do?

keep in mind my car weighs 2700 lbs...

I don't wish to go with the 4l60e. I had a manual car and I don't want to re-wire everything to get an ecu controlled transmission....not to mention i can't justify spending the extra money.

Thats understandable and it really depends on what the car is used for , If its mainly a weekend drag car then a 350 or better a 400 would be fine however if its a daily driver without overdrive its going to get really expensive to drive in a big hurry

th350 are a very good transmission, the second i hit that shifter on mine its right there with me, unlike the 4l60e that likes wait an eternity then debates and decides to shift by that time your on your rev limiter

I cracked the case on my th350. Eventually I'll put a case around the internals since they are pretty good pieces for a backup trans, but I definately feel better having the TH400 in the car now.
