Little Trans related tuning help needed
First I am not a tuner nor claim to be and I am not tuning this car lol.
I have a customer with HPTUNERS and here is his od issue if anyone care to input,
When driving the car the converter locks in second the unlocks in third,
So basically its
1st gear converter unlocked
2nd gear converter locked
3rd gear converter unlocks
4th gear converter unlocks
Now here what the data says it actually shows the PCM enabling lockup in 2nd gear. You can watch it say disabled-enabled-disabled-disabled with the shifts so apparently the PCM is commanding lockup on in second.
Now he says he has all the MPH for lockup in every gear set ridiculously high and it has no affect on second but does eliminate it for all other gears. The PCM still enables lockup in second gear only.
He says he has posted this in various forums including Hpt but got no response. So I told him I would post in here since there are plenty of good tuners on this forum and surley someone will have and idea.
He is also supposed to send me a log of his tune. I don't have the ability t read it but will post it on here when he does for those that do,
Thanks

If this is a 98 up f-body best thing to do would be put stock TCC auto apply and release table back in it and start over have never seen a f-body that commands a lock up in 2nd gear. without looking at tune this is about all I could say do to it.

Here is information
ust installed a Yank SS3600, told by Dave at yank that shift extension would be 4800-5000rpm. Car shifts at over 6200 and drops to 4200-4400rpm.
I logged a run, 1-2 shift @ just over 6200rpm dropped to 4550rpm. Looking at the log file I noticed a few things. On the graph I notice the rpms stop/hesitate at 4900rpm and wheel speed goes up to 60 then drops to 51mph and at the same time the rpms drop to 4559. Also during all this the TCC slip goes negative briefly, about -400 rpm or so, during 1>2 shift trans mode changes to ---3--- and holds that all through second and it goes away at 2>3 shift.
1st two files have WOT runs, third file is the tune I'm using. Attached Files wwot 7 3.hpl (23.6 KB, 3 views) wot 7 5.hpl (76.0 KB, 2 views) tuning for Yank TC current.hpt (461.5 KB, 4 views) The files are located on HTP forum so you may have to log in there

What you say and what I see do not match. It locks in 4th.
Are you trying to figure out why it locks in 2nd, or saying it ONLY locks in second?
It also skips shifts.
Set up your scan replay like the screen shot and use the slider bar on the graph to slowly move the table display slowly.

I only know what hes telling me it does , I have no idea honestly how to read the graphs. I am only now beginning to play with efi live myself.
He says he has it set to not lockup in any gear 1-2-3-4 but that it is locking the converter in second?
I think its a 98 or 99 camaro or trans am

From looking at the tune on the TCC tables I would put release at 90 and the applyed tables are still telling it to lock up in 3 and 4 only 2 is max out to not let it lock up
Nothing really out of line make sure harness to trans is ok.
