Default Track results for Circle D 3000 stall!

My CETA has been running pretty consistant 13.19 and 13.2's, before the stall converter. The previous best was a 1.94 60 foot, and a one time 13.08 in the early morning. The only mods then were a Fast Toys air lid, and 85mm MAF. The car is mostly a commuter so I wanted a real mild converter that would give me a few tenths. Circle D recommended their 3000 stall and I love it. The car drives like stock on the street, but launches pretty hard considering the few mods. I took it to a great local tuner in VA(pm for info) that hooked up the shift points and line pressure too as well as doing a quick tune. I ran new bests of 1.76 60 foot time and a 12.82 at 106. Here's some vids where you can see how it launches. Mine is the yellow TA in several of the races. The rest of the camaros are members here too.

What was the MPH on the 13.08 run and the DA for both? Are you spinning? What tires?

Man, you get the holeshot every time ... reminds me of when I first had my TCI 3000 installed ... thought it took MT DR's to reveal what the converter was truly capable of.

My trap speed has just about always been 105.xx. I think I've had a few high 104's and 1 or 2 low 106's. I didn't track the DA at all, but it's never been good! All the runs were in July or August heat. Never spinning either. With the stock stall I was dead hooking my street tires to 1.94- 1.98 60 foots, with the 3000 stall I was dead hooking 315 Nitto Drag radials to 1.7X's every time. I was surprised that I gained 3-4 tenths with the stall but no MPH??

the looser converter is giving up MPH for ET, not an unusual thing for a high stall

Thanks for the feedback and track times. A nice improvement in your numbers and still maintaing great street manors.

You will loose a little MPH with a high stall converter, just the nature of the beast.

Thanks for the great advice! This stall is really a no brainer for someone using the car as a daily driver. My 1/8th mile improved from 8.49 to 8.15 and my gas mileage doesn't seem affected at all. My driving is almost all highway though so the converter is locked the whole time.

Then you should have gotten a big stall.

The 8.15 seems more impressive to me than the 12.82. My car went 8.35 and 12.92 (stock stall). You should try one of the many ram air kits to help get the MPH up on the big end.

Also you said you ran a 315 tire are you running 11 inch wheels now?

Jon

I have a extra set of TT2's with the Nitto DR's mounted on that I use for the track. Then I switch back to my Stock CETA rims for the street. I painted my center spokes black on the TT2's to match the car a little better at the track.

$3300 worth of crap? I don't think that would make me happy. I'd atleast have to spend on something worth while.

Could it be that they are quite a bit heavier and there for hurting your times?

The LS1tech price for the stall was just $350 including shipping. I paid a local guy $300 to install it.

I'm sure they're about 10 lbs heavier, but it's a worth while trade off to run the DR's. My 275 Fuzion street tires would never pull 1.7x sixty foot times...

I understand about the hooking, but 10lbs heavier per wheel is alot. You could be 60ing better and turning more MPH with lighter wheels and DRs.
