There are more than a few that have done it. We have one that is shooting for 8.XX this year. A few weeks ago it went 9.2x at Real Street Drags at Union Grove Wisconsin. I know this Friday they had another event up there. I'll have to see how it did and report back. It is a full weight and full suspension C5. Here is an old photo of the car from two years ago running in the 9's.
Here is another that ran 9.6x full weight and suspension.
And yet another that ran 9.7x full weight and suspension.

10.42@132.25 with 1.51 Sixty foot.
Finishline Level 5 Billet output... 5000street miles and over 100 passes so far, I Beat the crap out of it on a regular basis.
Not 9's but at 4000LBS still worthy of mention I think

Iam planning to do 9s next season, and depending on how much my FLT trans can hold up I might shoot for 8s

sweet anymore im just curious. Any vids of these cars out there? The guy above man there are some great tranny builders on here. Im sure FRANK OR VINCE could help you out. Every time I drive my car Im just glad im not worried about the tranny taking a dump on me. I went through that about 2 years ago with a local tranny shop. In that summer my car only ran a 11.6 n/a no juice and the tranny blew up 3 times in 3 months
I pulled it out every dang time and took it up to them and they charged me parts everytime finally I got fed up sold the tranny and called performabuilt and I think my exact words were this tranny better work. lol and Frank assured me it would and it has. My buddy had a FLT tranny that he bought from Vince and ran there tranny for over a year with alot of 10.7 passes on it he sold the car and last I heard its still going strong. These guys reputations are at risk there not going to give you a crap tranny.

For some reason it seems the 4l60e's hold up better in the vettes maybe its because there alittle lighter but either way 9's or low 10's is fast with a 4l60e I got sick of dealing with them and just threw a 4l80e in hopefully it holds up so far so good.

That white Vette looks like a local's car around my area, it's a 427 with nitrous. I believe the guy's name is Ed, haven't see the car on the track in over a year though. That's awesome, I thought no one around here was running a good 4l60e. lol
Which level transmission is he running?

Does 18,000 miles in 2 years make it DD car lol
I also built Dave Moss's (Caveman) 4l60E in both his street cars, His Red 98 TA has over 80 passes in the 9's right now with out a single issue with a best of a 9.72 i believe

We have ran 9s and lost count on how many low low 10.0s. It is absolutely possible. The right converter and properly built 4L60E is key to low ETs and strength.
This site has the right people to make sure you achieve your goal.
Circle D Specialties and Transmissions got us there. We maintained a/c, heater, radio and both front seats when we first broke the 9 second barrier.
Good luck!!
