Default slipping tranny 1-2 shift

So i went to the track and on my last pass of the evening the tranny bounced off of the limiter, i let off and it shifted.

In the return lane i notice that it's slipping in the 1-2 shift pretty badly, and i have to give it virtually NO throttle and it will shift. Once it shifts into 2nd all problems cease and it drives no different than it ever did.

Over the past few days i've spent alot of time seraching and can't find a problem that is really like mine. I have a few questions.

Anyone have a diagnosis? If so, is there a quick temporary fix?

Through my reading of this and many other forums i realize that i'm in need of a rebuild, but being a college student it will be awhile before i can get the money up to have it rebuilt and with it being driven daily, i need it back on the road asap (in gimp mode of course haha)

second set of questions:

I've looked at MANY rebuild kits, through reading and searching i've think i've found the one that suits my needs best, which is basically stock with a 100 shot of n2o. Once of the kits i was looking at includes:

The kit you have listed is fine, I will say however if you plan to do this yourself and you have no experience. Not trying to sound like a naysayer but you will likely before its over have alot more money in it than you think I am going to send you a PM with another option

Not going to do it myself, was going to have a reputable local shop install it.
