Default TH350 went out on third shakedown pass

Took the car out for the official shakedown passes today and transmission has broke.

I loaded the footbrake pass the point the converter and tires couldn't hold and what would happen? The tires would spin right!? NO The transmission was letting go and the RPM went up, NO TIRE SPIN. hmm....Ok, so.....I decided this time to under load the converter on the last attempt and on the third amber burn I let go of the brake and mashed the gas in first gear and the car went no where.

Long story short,

First, second, or third gear does not work. car only runs in reverse.

Anyone know what happened? What's broke?

You can rebuild it or get a trans the important thing is if you do rebuild that one is to figure out exactly why it happened when you do so it does not repeat .

are the prices on your website for your TH350 and 400 the NEW sales prices? My car makes roughly 850rwhp. How do I choose one over the other? I've heard they both handle big hp just the 400 handles alot more. Your thoughts on how I would choose?

The prices are correct.
And at your power car I would have to say 400 though if it were my car it would be 4L80E all the way

stick with the 350 this trans will easilly handle this power level. you can have your trans rebuilt or get one already done if the trans is built right it will survive. 400 takes to much power to run it approximatly 30 hp over 350, and the 4l80e is way to heavy and cost you even more power to run it.

I feel your pain.... my tranny went out on the 5th pass. That wasnt the bad part.... it spun a rod bearing on the same pass. It almost makes you want to say **** it and sell everything...almost.

Same thing happened on my TH350. I only made 5 passes on it and the forward clutch went out of it. Yanked that bitch out and put a 4L80E in there and never looked back. I also wanted drive mine on a regular basis and it just made much more sense for me
