Default coolers

i gotta pick up a tranny cooler today for my performabuilt 3600 stall that i'll be putting in (hopefully tomorrow). the stickies are very helpful, but i now need to buy one and have a few questions...

i realize most use a b&m cooler that is carried by many of our sponsors, but i am short on time and actually have to pick one up today.

anyone know about earl's performance temp-a-cure coolers? one that i'm looking at is 3 x 13 x 2 so it runs a little shorter than a b&m, but is thicker.

they also have bigger ones like a 5 7/8 x 8 1/4 x 2 for a little more, but i was wondering if these are any more or less efficient than your average b&m 11 x 8 x 1 1/2 cooler? i can't find btu ratings on them, but i'll probably stop by an earl's dealer today while i'm running around looking for a cooler.

should i be concerned about the size of the cooler, or more of where it is mounted? i'm thinking of mounting it dope style and everyone seems to have very low temps doing it this way.

also.. any suggestions on where to physically buy a cooler?

thanks

They make nice coolers but they aren't cheap.

i ended up finding a B&M 20,500 btu one (70266) for a discounted $65 (brand new) at a performance shop i always end up at for overpriced nitrous refills and unrealistically high dyno numbers.

it didn't come with any fittings, so i went over to an auto parts store and picked up some brass fittings to accommodate the 6ft of 3/8 transmission cooler line. also picked up some hose clamps.

am i missing anything else?
