Default gearing problem

i bought a 98 z28 that originally had a 2:72? rear gear but now has a 3:42 gear and of course the speedo is off. is there another gear i can install in the trans to make it read correctly?

Only way is to edit the tune with a Predator/Hypertech/HP Tuners etc. or have a tuning person calibrate it. No physical way (like the gear in old transmissions) to change it. Takes me about 2 min. to change with my Predator.

tatasta told you how to correct it. there is no other way. it is all electronic. no cable driven speedo. Either have your car programmed for the diff or DEAL WITH IT

What makes you think there is something in the trans that can balance this? Just take it to get a tune...its quick and easy. I dunno why you would try to buy more parts to get around it?
