Default Ordered: FTi Converter

This is for my 347ci motor with a TH350.

Here's what we decided on:
SST89-6:

Billett Front Cover
Screw on Pilot
Balloon Plated Impeller
Furnace Brazed
Tig Welded
Large Sprague
8" Stator 41 Degree Ported
5140 Turbine Splines
Hardened Flanged Impeller Hub
Dual Bolt Pattern
Built for Trans Brake

Anyone have any thoughts?! I am more of a M6 guy (just swapped over to the TH350 this year and am loving it!), so any opinions are welcome!

I am currently running a 10.5" PTC that is stalling to around 3200 on the footbrake and about 4000 on the nitrous. I am cutting 1.57 60's on motor and 1.41 on a 200 hit of nitrous via nitro-dave's plate kit.

I am really pumped!! The guys, Greg and Bud, down at FTi really won me over on the phone. They were easy to contact, willing to answer all my questions, and were very knowledgeable. I am excited to see what this thing will do with their custom spec'd converter vs an off the shelf PTC. PTC is by far the racer's choice here in the TN area for TH350 and TH400 guys. So, I am going a little against the grain. Hopefully, I'll put them all to shame!

Just wanted to get a post started to come back to with feedback once i get the converter in and make some passes on it!

Cool. I want to try them out as well. I just have to decide what I'm replacing my six speed with. I keep waffling between a built manual valve body 4L65, TH400, or 4L80. With my heavy GTO I'm leaning toward Th400/4L80.

Do you drive your car on the street much? If so, what's it like with no overdrive?

I drive it to cruise-in's and so on, but not much interstate driving. As long as it's at 60 or less, it's really not bad at all. It puts a little more strain on all your cooling(trans/oil/water) but it's not very unbearable at all to have a A3. Personally, There is no other auto trans I would run in the car, minus a Glide.

If you are mostly in town driving i say it's fine!

I'm in the country with 55mph roads. If I go to the track it's 80 miles away and I'll just put it on my flatbed now.
