Want To Own Your Own Drag Strip?
George Ray's Wildcat Drag Strip For Sale
It may be only 3/4 of a mile long and thus too short for a full 1/4- mile strip these days, but George Ray's Wildcat drag strip in Paragould, AR is for sale.
With a listed price of $750,000 the strip, set on 29 acres between two tracks of farmland, comes with a concession stand, ETS Timing Systems clocks, a concession stand and a 1,400 square foot, 2 bed/2 bath home. It's also registered as a historical site which would make upgrading this in any way as difficult as it is blasphemous.
Forget it as an investment or even a business, but how cool would it be to own a drag strip? Plus, it's a damn-sight cheaper than the fully modern one we featured in TX for $1.2M.

I think it would be pretty great to own that old track. My question would be, can it still be used for racing other than 1/4 mile? That includes, can it be re-paved or turned to all concrete to make it a little closer to safe. If so, anyone who buys it can probably make some, even small, profit over time. If it were me, I'd keep the name if I was allowed. But alas, I haven't got 3/4 million sittin' around, burning holes in my pockets or otherwise. If I did, I'd honestly be interested in that "historic" site, indeed.
