I think 2014-16 would be a more likely window.

releasing too much info is not good. changes to the 2012 gt500 will include: 330 rear tires, 285 fronts. 2 pounds more boost. an even 575hp.
not really, but they could.

If they are tooled and ready to assemble on 1/1/12, then examples should be on dealer lots by February 2012. Model year production usually continues into July, so that's a half-year of production.

2012 or 2013, it makes no difference to me. Most "new" models used to hit the roads in September/October of the prior yr... June seems to be becoming a more common release month anymore, at least for sports type models.
I do think 2012 is more fitting, not only because it's going to be the 1st month of 2012(which makes sense), but also because the Camaro was introduced as a 1967 model... This gives it a good round anniverary number(ignoring the yrs of non-production).

According to this link production starts in January 2012.

Attendees at the National Chevrolet Dealer conference are usually given enough information to choke a horse, several times over. Some is good and some make you long for better days. Information released to dealers today makes a wish come true, as Chevrolet has finally officially confirmed the schedule for the start of Camaro Z/28 production.
According to a Camaro5 member attending the meetings, production is slated to begin on New Year’s Day, 2012. That might be adjusted by a day or two, we think. Still, the so-called ‘HP Edition’ Camaro is going to leave the factory with a supercharged 6.2-liter engine sitting under its significantly restyled hood.
That hood, apparently, will have some louvers or slats, as have been spotted in previous spy photos. Deep underneath all the shiny bits, the Z/28 will manage its roadholding manners with a magnetic ride suspension, as seen in the Cadillac CTS-V.
Both handling and stance will be based on 285 section width tires in front and 330 mm wide rollers out back. Minor interior changes are likely, as well. These details should be pretty solid, as you can bet that this is information that GM wanted you to know.
Now, the real speculation can begin,

The launch will be everything in a drag race. From the looks, the Shelby has an advantage there already. I'm just hoping GM keeps the price of the Z down... I'm guessing 52K as an average, but I wouldn't pay that much for one anymore than I'll pay 50K for the GT500.
When I take note the CTS-V starts at over 25K more than the CTS... I have concerns. Of course, that's Cadillac and they can much more easily price a vehicle in the stratosphere and still sell it.
