New M5 Information.
I guess it won't be making more power than the CTS-V. It will be interesting to see if it's quicker around a track.

Onlookers can tell the M5 is a special car with its enlarged air intakes in the front fascia, quartet of tailpipes and 20-inch wheels with Z-rated tires, but it doesn't need to be festooned with wings and bling to make its point.
The 2012 M5 is about more than mere surface beauty, after all. The sonorous V10 of the last M5 has been traded out for a twin-turbocharged V8 fist. Power is up, with 552 horsepower (the V10 produced 507 hp) coming on at 6,000 rpm – 1,750 rpm lower than the V10. Torque is hugely boosted from 383 pound-feet to 501 lb-ft, which will be great for shoving this car to 60 miles per hour in a reported 4.4 seconds. That'll route to the rear wheels via a standard dual-clutch transmission, though a proper six-speed stick will reportedly be available here in the United States.
The cost of entry is rumored to be around €100,000 in Germany – about $144,000 based on current exchange rates. We're sure the actual U.S. price won't be anywhere near that high (the €100K number likely includes Europe's lofty value-added tax), but in any case, start saving your pennies.

It's obvious by that massive jump in Torque that they wanted to at least get in the same ballpark as the CTS-V!! Very cool car, also interested in how it performs at the track compared with the CTS-V.

All I have to say is, DCT TTV8!!!
This thing destroys the tires at the flip of a paddle in 2nd gear. Rolling burnouts for days. Just had a training video on it to get us ready for delivery.
It will be impressive in stock form. But this platform is making 670 crank HP with software and exhaust in the X5M/X6M. Give it 6 months and we will seeing some very impressive numbers...
Pricey yes, but accept no substitutions!!

It's a well made interior and everything one needs is there but I prefer the BMW interiors of a few generations ago (the earlier M3 E46 interior comes to mind here) with a more pronounced 'center stack into console' type set up.

I agree. Same thing with the 3 series, they have that long open expanse/area from the center dash to the passenger side almost like a Chrysler from the '70s LOL.

Have u guys seen the Honda Pilot dashes...I like the gauge numbers upfront with the needles recessed deeper down inside...very nice 3D effect. The font needs to be different but I'd like to see automakers doing this effect
