Wow just saw episode 3, the MP4-12C vs Ferarri 430 has got to be the greatest car segment I have ever seen, that comparison and the way it was shot with the editing and music was epic, Kanyes west song used to introduce the mclaren was perfect. This is really the best show on television, loved this episode.

Holy ****, my dream BMW is an e31, and as soon as I saw Hammond pick up the phone inside the car, I knew immediately what it was.

I was looking to buy the V8 version (840i) because it doesn't have two of everything like the V12 version has.... stuff like fuel pumps, ECUs, etc.

Yes. Only the (go cart) Ariel Atom beat it. Looks like McLaren in their pursuit of perfection, lost the human component. This is what I don't like about automatic/paddle shift transmissions, awd and all the electronic aids to control the drivers every move. Yes, you do get faster times but at the expense of taking all the fun out of the driving experience. Unfortunately, the faster the cars get the more electronically burndened they seem to be.

The McLaren's time seems a little far fetched to me, but I won't know for sure until it's tested elsewhere.

I think it's total bias BS that Clarkson points out that the McLaren is all science and says the Ferrari isn't it's bull, everybody and their mom knows that he loves Ferraris more than any other car.

What makes the Ferrari unScience? B/c they both have Pattle Shifter, and as far as i'm concerned that what makes it a fantastic lap car but not a drivers car imo. Thats why Hammond loves the Porsches and their manual.
