its a sick car no doubt... the 5.0 will only see tail lights.... but what about when they decide to beef up the gt500 with a 5.0s/c or something equivalent... its all good for this year, but next year i bet for will have a surpise (coming from a chevy guy).

if it was me, for the money, i would get a used c5z build it. and eat up a gt500 zl1 zr1

That's actually not too bad of a bad point, who knows what Ford has planned for the GT500 once the ZL1 is released. It should get very interesting.

I have a good feeling about the ZL1 though, I like it a lot.

LS9? More boost? Anything Ford can do with the GT500 GM can do as well. This could go on until fuel prices or the government do things to put these cars out of production.

Isn't Ford doing a turbo'd GT500 next year or is that still rumor?

I don't know if one could say it didn't (doesn't) have the performance. True it might not run as fast as many of us would like it to for a 426hp (or even 400hp automatic) car but it does still at least match (even exceeds) the 4th gen LS1 F-bodies in overall performance and those cars were pretty damn fast too.
165mph+ top speed and high 12s is still considered somewhat fast for a comfortable daily drivable $31k street car in my book.
