Another note worth consideration... It simply doesn't look like the performance gained with the Lingenfelter hands is worth the hefty price... 9 grand plus (after taxes) for 516rwhp / 460rwtq on a 5th gen LS3... Not impressing me even a little bit, considering where the thing started.
LPE has always been more expensive but in the past they have included a warranty with their packages. is there one offered in this case?

I would think that was obvious... After all, I did say LS3 and last I checked, that's not the engine in the ZL1...

Idonno the warranty... It may be through Edelbrock, but I would think there's something.

& don't forget this is on stock suspension, full weight, stock catback, stock transmission...... & blower. The GT500 had to use a whipple to get into 9s so

More like the GT500 was a blower swap away from 9 second 1/4 times.

9's is getting it done, no doubt!

That's really important, ain't it... The GT500 has gone 7's(back in 2009)... It doesn't matter what it "had to use" to get there, just that it DID get there.

C'mon already... We can all fall in love with the ZL1, but it's going to take far more than desire to run with the REAL big dogs... At this time, Camaro isn't even in the game.

I was driving the car and our tuner Dan was tuning at the track. The car was going to be the first to the 9's whether it was running or not when we left. The last pass, we filled the car with MS109 and threw a bunch of timing in it. It did however go 10.07-10.10 with 93 octane.

Could I just throw it back at you with this ZL1 has to have major engine modifications to run 9's?

I'm pretty sure the GT500s are running bone stock engines and manual transmissions in a lot of those 9 second cars. Hell, GT500's have been running sub 9 second passes since 2008.

I wonder if it would come close to the 9's with a bigger blower instead of the way they did it? I'm sure they took to safer route to to ensure they have a package that won't go boom. Does anyone know what the cam size is?

ya know what? if i could afford it, i'd have one of each of these. i'd drive the gt500 on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, the zlq Tuesday/Thursday. i'd flip a coin over which one i'd take to the track on any given weekend. orrrr......i'd take em both, and lure my buddy that owns a 2010 2ss back to racing by letting him drive one of them........
