Cadillac ATS 2.0T to feature updated Pontiac Solstice GXP LNF Engine
The turbo ATS engine is a reworked and updated version of the LNF engine seen in cars such as the Cobalt SS, Saturn Sky, and Pontiac Solstice GXP. It is well documented that this engine puts out VERY good power with minimal mods. It's no secret that the ATS2.0T will be the choice for ATS buyers with performance in mind despite the V6 having higher ratings.

This engine saw duty in some Saabs as well and there are tons of tunes for it.
They still braaaap and woooof though, but some people like that.

A broad lineup of engines – including two four-cylinders and a V-6 for North America – delivers strong power to the ATS and capitalizes on the car's lightweight structure to complement its performance with efficiency. The optional engines include an all-new 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 270 horsepower (201 kW) and Cadillac's award-winning 3.6L V-6, estimated at 318 horsepower (237 kW).
At 135hp/L, the new 2.0T is one of the most power-dense engines in the industry, topping engines from European competitors. ATS will offer both manual and automatic transmission options, along with rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The ATS will deliver peak highway fuel economy of more than 30 mpg.

Looks like the 4 banger might find its way back into a fbody. I personally like the idea give it to the people that want the looks and mpgs AND help keep the cafe regulations in check so the rest of us can enjoy the fast ones.Either way it's a win win for the consumer.

Many stock dyno results suggest that the LNF was underrated at the crank by GM. Also, the ATS2.0T is not getting an LNF. It is getting an updated version (think LS1 to LS6..same displacement, just better internals). I highly doubt that with an upgraded turbo and improved direct injection that it will only put out an additional 10HP over the original LNF.

Not sure if the stage kit works on the new Regal GS but most likely it does.

I'm going to be interested to see how the new ATS looks and drives. It's supposed to be a direct competitor to the A4 and 3-series, so we'll see.
