Default 2014 Seirra Denali Specs and Pics

Man these new trucks are almost to nice to be treated like a truck. I bet they will run hard to for a big truck with just a few bolt ons.

Towing 12K pounds is no joke. I'm curious if the new 6.2L will equal the mpgs of the outgoing 5.3. It should come close.

Too techy inside, beaten with an ugly stick on the outside.

Doesn't look ugly to me, but it doesn't look better than the competition either. "So much for catching the competition," though, is really what got my attention...

They've gone out of their way to beat Ford(obviously) in power/torque and it won't last 1 full model year if the stories I've read lately are even close to true. I'm not crazy about the look of that new model either(so far). Seems that if they squeak by the Ford 6.2L and felt they needed Direct Injection to do it, they're product is in trouble against much of the competition. Not only Ford is likely to show off against this "upgrade," but Dodge is like a wrench twist away from surpassing this new GMC, as is Toyota.

I expected more for their next "Professional Grade" pickup. The interior is nothing to brag about, including the 8" Nav screen. Didn't find it compelling and the only kinda sad part is, I've always liked the GMC brand. This shouldn't be the best they offer. GM seriously needs to raise their bar on the inside, particularly in the "gadget" department. They're so far behind on electronics, it's almost mind-boggling. Surely this "best" GMC 1/2 ton is going to cost like crazy... I hope the 1mpg advantage over Fords turbo V6 is worth it, because Dodge already beats this with their own V6 and while the power/torque is surely notably different, if the vehicle tows well enough, people are looking for economical engines, even in pickup trucks.

This isn't much going to help GM retake the top pickup sales mark.

I would like to see a plainer version of the truck with a normal cluster, normal radio and non-googly eyed headlamps before I completely write it off.

Seems pretty solid, considering... $41,270.00 will get a brand new 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 CC Standard Box 2WD SLT. That includes no options... It's not exactly without equipment, of course.

"Sierra’s all-new EcoTec3 engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and are based on 50+ years of proven small-block performance. Direct Injection, Active Fuel Management and Variable Valve Timing technologies make each of those engines more powerful and more efficient than ever." - GMC.com on the performance of the new 2014 Sierra 1500.

After further review, this one isn't remotely impressive. GM totally dropped the ball on this new wannabe professional grade pickup truck! As usual, technologically speaking, they're 10yrs behind the rest of the 1st world.

Probably save a few grand by building an SLT with the max towing package (all the options, just ducking the Denali name). Going that route I'd still be surprised if it came in under $60K...

Or, just buy a brand new 4wd diesel truck.

Logic does not belong in the same room as new truck pricing.

I did the build your own, thing... Starting with an SLT 2wd, I "put together" a fairly nice pickup for a little over 50k. Too much money for that pickup. Way too much.
