If you believe that new tires to new tires should be tested, then it's somewhat up in the air, but I will still lean to the 350R in this case, as the Z/28 was the benchmark to beat, so I don't see Ford releasing a car that isn't at least marginally quicker on a road course.
Cliff's:
Ford camp: GT350R smoked that Z/28!
Chev camp: Used tires suck, unfair comparison!
Rest of us: Too close to call, but should still go to the 350R with tire wear being equal.
Last thought: the standard GT350 would get smoked by even a Z/28 with used tires, in the same way that some are saying this 350R smoked the Z/28 in this comparison.

Well it looks like the z28s tires were whipped. In there long term update the front had the cords come out of one. This happened after the comparison. You may have to look around on the link but there are pics there of it.
