650 HP Chevrolet Colorado
What your opinion on GM throwing a LT4 in a Colorado to take on the Ford Raptor? Imo I love the new Colorado

That would be far too much power for the Colorado to put to the ground. The plans are for a Duramax.

Under the ZR2’s hood is GM’s first U.S. installment of its 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel four-cylinder, a global engine that will migrate to the Colorado for the 2016 model year. With urea injection, this big-bore four churns out 181 horsepower at 3400 rpm and a swelling 369 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm, a 23 lb-ft bump from overseas models. A balance shaft and a variable-geometry turbo may deliver some TDI-level refinement, but don’t expect GM’s smooth eight-speed automatic to jump on board. The Colorado lives for just six.
At the moment, the ZR2 is officially a concept, yet there’s every indication this trim will, in some form, make it to the production line. We look forward to pressing its buttons knowing this time around, they’ll probably last.

I love it. The diesel Canyon was very close to becoming my next vehicle, and I may still get one in the future. My target has shifted from truck/SUV to car though.

True, I'm waiting to see how the 2.8 duramax proves itself. If the price makes sense I might swap my Sierra Denali 6.2 out for a Canyon for boat towing/hauling/road trip duties. It'd probably fit in my garage better and definitely get better mpg. The driving characteristics while towing a 21ft CC boat will be the deciding factor.

The boat/trailer load is about 5000 lbs loaded up and with the T-top it has a lot of aero drag. It has disc brakes on the trailer. My Sierra 6.2 does great pulling it, but who knows how the Colorado with 2.8 Duramax will do. These new "midsize" trucks really aren't that small or light anymore. I think it's well over 4k lbs rigged with a crew cab.
