2005 Mustang GT

All specs from fast-autos.net

^I was personally dissapointed with these specs, I had heard rumors of the 05 GT significanlt outrunning it's 04 counterparts. Now I really don't like this car, as I was never a fan of the retro looks in the first place. Just my .02

Keep in mind you're comparing a GT to a Mach 1. you should compare a GT to a GT and in that regard it does outgun it's predeccesor. According to Blue Oval News Ford may introduce heritage cars on the new platform as well (Such as the Bullit and Mach 1).

I see some real potential in the 05' and if they can do a Cobra with a S/C with the new style and added body parts it will be badass IMO.

AND it is the last pony car

I am starting to accept it may be what we will have to buy if there is not another camaro. GM sucks and is not making anything for the normal guy this side of a 30-50 thousand dollar car. Way to go for Ford still making something that normal ppl can drive. I am very dissapointed they made the new Stang heavier though, why make it heavier???

I'm a normal person, and I can afford (and even drive!) a car around $30k. The new Mustang GT without options starts at $27k, then add options, taxes, and interest if you finance.

If you're really on a budget, there will always be used Camaros you can buy.

Actually GT's start at 24k. And, you can find them a 2003 for 15k with not to many miles.

You know it wasn't that long ago you could buy a Mustang 5.0 LX brand new for $9,000. Of course Mulletts were pretty cool back then too... God I must be getting old.....

9,000.00 ?! These days people spend that much adding options onto a 50,000.00 car.

We dont like Mustangs, don't like the interior, exterior, power, wheels or whatever it is but one thing is for sure, Ford knows what they're doing, they've sold tons of Stangs even when the F-Bodies were around and will contiune to do so. I hate them, I think they look horrible but they still sell and Ford keeps making money.

GM.......... ha, what a joke. Buy a under powered heavy *** GTO (4000 pounds with a driver in some cases dyno'ing what, 320) or spend all the money on a 2 seater Vette. There's nothing between thats a little lighter, little quicker, more practical than a Vette and costs 10,000.00 less.

05 Stang is heavy, but it's cool looking.

I have heard some rumours of a 2006.5 5th gen F-Body. Very very good sources. I'll keep digging. If what I heard was true it would be cool.

Remember the Chevrolet SS concept?

I've heard it's a preview to what the new Chevrolet coupe will be in 2007/2008.

Yup, I think it 1990 you could get a Mustang 5.0 or a Camaro RS 5.0 TBI for $9K. The top of the line F-Body (Trans Am GTA 5.7 Liter all options) was about $18K ro so. I think one thing that worked against the F-Car and Mustang is that the price has risen faster than inflation. I twas very possible back in 1990 to get a summer job in high school and buy a $9K brand New Mstang new. Now that's just not possible. Teen agers (in general) can't afford the base V8 cars anymore. That might be a huge factor inthe rise of sport compact cars too.

There's inflation too.

My GN was $17k or so brand new in 1987, nicely equipped.

I remember reading someplace (back in high school) around 1990, that the 5.0 stang was the most HP per dollar car you could buy.I was a senior in High School when the 5.0 stang was the car to have, I had a 78 Z-28, 350 w/a 150 shot of NOS, and still got spanked by those damn cars.......my mom had an 85 monte Carlo SS, (305) that also got spanked by those stangs............It is so nice to have the Ls1 T/A now,

Now I get to spank them !!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a ton of them still around the neighborhood, and it's so funny when they rev thier motors when they drive by my drive way and see the T/A.....I just have to laugh

oh ya, and the 05 stang is really cool looking, I hate FORD, but that is a really cool car......they need to make an 05 Elenor (msp)

Where did you get the 3300 numbers??? I have consistenly seen 3400. However, even 3300 is a step in the wrong direction.
