Default 272 Cobalt SS

http://forums.gminsidenews.com/showt...8&page=1&pp=20

I found this link at another site. The car is supposed to have 270hp which isn't bad but the hood looks really gay like GM pasted it on there so it looks cool. The wing also is not helping its looks either.

if the engine isnt forged, atleast to the point that its neon competitor is, i doubt it will sell very well. on the other hand, who would have though that the civic would be a huge success?

Ditch the wing.. the hoodscoop isn't too bad, but I'd prefer it gone as well.. and give it a forged bottomend.. and put it under 20k, and I'll buy it for a daily driver

Peace,
Josh

i think 270HP isnt stock from the factory, i think thats the most you can get out of it without upgradeing the bottom end, and you will need a smaller SC pulley to make make more boost, ill take one for a daily driver minus the body kit

That's the SEMA show car. From what I understand, most of those parts will be aftermarket...

from the chevy website:

Also included on this engine:
A direct-mount oil cooler.
Oil jets for piston cooling.
Heavy-duty pistons.
Strong connecting rods.
Forged-steel crankshaft.
Large oil pump.
Sodium-filled exhaust valves for improved durability.
A high-strength aluminum cylinder head.

That car isn't all that bad besides the hood scoop and rear wing. I would also get one if it was cheaper and I had money, for a daily driver as well.

I'm with ya on that on that one. The hood scoop needs a little more thought but it's a nice little pocket rocket. It's my understanding that the Cobalt is much better built than the Cavalier was . Finally , GM is starting to see the light on the import craze. Some guys are gonna want a 4cyl instead of a V8 , don't understand that logic but whatever yanks your crank ,I suppose. Too bad they're about 5 years late on cashing in on "The Fats and the Curious".

The Ecotec is a very good motor. It will be interesting to see what comes out for it when the Solstice and Sky hit the market.
