Are they even still building the "monster Miata"? With the 302 off to parts-counter heaven, I'm not even sure how they could certify that motor anymore....

So, you buy a $20,000 Solstice and then have a LS2 put in... what would the cost be? $10,000 to $15,000?

The car would be lighter but the suspension would be need to be retuned and what would it do to the weight distribution?

I don't think the weight would be too adversly affected since the V8 is just as long as the inline-4 it replaces. It would be heavier, but maybe wouldn't be as tall since it's an OHV design. They could save some weight by boring out the cylinders and going to a dry sump to lower the block in the frame.....hmmm... I know just the new motor that acomplishes that.

pretty much the same thing I was thinking. The solstice shares alot of the drivetrain that the vette does. I believe the trans is the vette 6 speed.

That's news to me too. How do they get the vette drivetrain to bolt up to a four cyl.?
