It seemed pretty obvious to many but it looks like the next Volvo S80 will more than likely be offered with the Yamaha built 4.4L DOHC V8 that cranks out 315hp in the XC90 V8 SUV. I've heard rumors that Ford and Lincoln sedans may also get this motor in the future. One can only hope. I'm guessing the next S80 will come standard with AWD (at least on the higher powered models) as FWD just won't cut it anymore. Apparently the 350hp version of Volvo's turbo straight 6 is still on track (this is the motor that was supposed to power a 350hp AWD super Focus that was put on hold and most likely cancelled a few months ago) and it appears that this high output version will be top dog over the 315hp V8.
