Depending upon your state laws. Your insurance might cover it for free. It doesn't hurt to ask them. And it does not negatively impact your premium.

what year is your caddy? my dad runs an auto glass replacement shop here in missouri, im wanting to say its around $350 for the older body style, ridiculous amounts on the new body style.. dont quote me but thats a ballpark. depending on your deductible, most insurance companies will cover all but the deductible.
