Default Hood for CTS-V

I have seen custom hoods on CTS-V but can not find any for sale. One site even has a custom hood on a CTS-V but they do not sell it.

I personally like the Extreme cowl hood better and its cheaper. If I was going to swap thats the one I would get...it just has a meaner look to it.

I like mine. Just be willing to spend minimum 500 bucks to get it painted and prepped. The shape and dimensions of the hood are fine. The prep work consists of blocking the fiberglass correctly so you can have a smooth paintable surface. otherwise itll be wavy and look like crap.

FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS! I was sitting there looking at wavy hoods on Vs and thinking.. the body shops these guys are taking their cars to do have a BODYWORK division right?

By the way, your cars pic reminded me I need to go buy one of the extreme composites hoods cause they look amazing. Beautiful car sir.

hey 04ctsvfl, what size/brand tires are you running on the CCWs front and rear, and were they worth it?

Anyone have any pictures of the hood open? Or how about a view from drivers POV?
I love the cowl hood and I would imagine it would do great to pull heat out of our stuffed engine bay.

Default CTS Prototype Hood??

I am a recent owner of a 2009 Cadillace Cts. I had an unfortunate encounter with a random doe, where in turn it left me with a dented up hood. Instead of just replacing it with another factory hood, I was hoping to top it off with a hood like the one seen on the 2010 prototype coupe! I am shoppng around to see if someone could fabricate one or point me in the right direction of one that may have already been replicated!??

I called specker werks and asked them about a carbon fiber version of their hoods, and they quoted me a price of $2400. Just in case anyone wanted that one in CF. $$

Those vents do look good on the EC cowl hood, but my fave is the specter heat extractor hood by far!

Vents/extractors are just one more thing to go wrong and **** up your day. Stay with the cowl design, it looks mean and no temp issues.

On my s281 saleen, I had the heat extractor hood and loved it. seemed to pull a lot of HOT air out while cruising. I never had many probs with it except for when it rained if the car was sitting, it would splash on the motor some.
