Unhappy Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT manifold didn't clear the hood

We tried installing the new sweet looking Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT manifold on Bob's V. It looked like it might fit with his cowl hood, but it turned out the manifold is just a little too tall.

This was a far as the hood would shut.

That stinks! Are you going to try to modify the hood or just scrap the idea?

What about cutting an inch out of each runner?

This V has to be ready for a photo shoot this weekend, so the stock LS2 intake is getting swapped for a FAST 92mm. Besides the intake swap, we're working on the rearend and installing an Aeromotive fuel controller and a few other items. Time isn't on our side! Bob

We may try cutting the runners and taking a section out of this intake for this V, as the customer would like to try doing that sometime in the near future. Bob

I'm sure it would be a piece of cake for you guys. Probably make it put out a little more tq too.

Are you planning on trying to put a centri on the new V?

We're thinking it would make a little more torque also.

I'd like to try a centrifical supercharger on the new V, it would be cool to see what we can make. Thanks. Bob

Yeah Bob, Lets go ahead and do the shortening of the runners & port the intake. What you think we need to take out like maybe 1-1/2 " ?
Then I'll get it back up & we'll do a pull before & after to see how much better it is than a fast 92mm.
Oh yeah Bob, Congratulations on getting all this stuff done in such a short time frame, Thats really a helluva accomplishment for all the different things that needed something done in the few days you've had the V & thats even with all the wasted time on trying to fit the ProFlo Xt, I really appreciate it. Now if only the weather will cooperate this weekend for the photo shoot thats scheduled. Also need to make it to Putnam park this weekend for some hangout time with the guys, That is if the weather is decent.
EPP is the Best of the Best,

Thanks Bob, Brent, Dustin & Drew

News Flash: Drew! Where is that burnout video ?

How much more clearance over stock does that cowl hood allow?

Thats one tall intake manifold!
Backwards thinking, but what about custom engine mounts to sit the engine a lil lower?

That car looks like a beast.

How tall is it from the valley cover to where it hits the hood?

The FAST 92mm intake/fuel rails looks good on here too, much better than the factory LS2 intake. Bob

From the site:
"The rear that Bob ended up with uses a Ford Cobra center section, which hopefully will handle the 800 to 850 rwhp we anticipate this V will end up producing."

That's old news...that was his 8.8 cobra rear end. Now he has a custom ford 9" setup.
