I remember searching for it before and here is what i found.
B&M - Cost 1-5 = 2... but discontinued
Katech - cost 1-5 = 4
UUC - Cost 1-5 = 5
UUC is supposedly the smoothest and quitest of the three. It might have something to do with the bushings in the shift linkage... but im not sure as i have never installed one before. I have seen some B&M go for 120-150 on ebay. I think the UUC is about 300-325. B&M being the noisest. I am not sure how "noisy". Those are the only three that i know of. Katech in the middle both price and "feel". Others can chime in about additional short throws if there are any.

You can still get the B&M shifter from atlanticspeed.com by calling them or bidding on their items on ebay (~$200). The noise is negligible in my opinion, but I have a "loud" exhaust and a maggie that make noise so it all blends together.
Katech shifter is about $289 I think and the UUC $350. Everything else that T said is correct.

the b&m are noisy only if you keep your paw on the **** pushing it slightly in gear, mine is silent once i learned to remove my ham fist off the lever instead of rocking pimp g sidewayz rollin low like master p vegas style homie... ya~meen!?

the b&m is great. the little noise it does produce comes from resting your hand while applying any side/gear pressure as psi said (just resting on top produces no noise for me), reuse of the stock **** without insulating/securingtight. Also I only hear it when you get on it.. the **** rattles a bit, and the crappy foam layer inside the console doesnt block noise well at all. Dynamat helped a bit, but more for rattles than anything. Most of the time engine noise drowns out any shifter noise. I only hear it sometimes when someone else is in the car, radio is all the way down, windows up, etc etc
install is easy, but with a lift would 75% easier.

I shifted a UUC and it felt really nice, like a perfect improvement over stock, almost as if it could have come that way from the factory.
The b&m has more of a notchier/sport, or statically firmer shift (imo)

some one better hold maggies hair while she's puking her guts out all over the sidewalk.
i wish some of these maggie guys lived closer, i would love to show my superior home made set up's authority over miss little lungs maggie.
any one>? anyone?

The newer release Katech shifters are much quieter than the earlier versions. I can't tell any difference in gear whine sound between it and the stocker, but I did install some foam insulation on either side of the console, so that may have helped. Also, their accompanying parts kit is first rate.
The UUC top install directions on the Cadillac site are a better option for most, though.

UUC is a little more expensive, but it's dead quiet, and shifts awesome!
Plus I heard other having to replace bushings on their Katech. Not the shifter linkage bushings, but the ones that the screw goes thru to hold it in.
I like fixing something, and forgetting it.

Bushing Replacement
Jerrad,
The aforementioned bushing is at the lower eye end of the shifter. They are very brittle and frequently disintegrate (if you're not careful and sometimes even if you are ) on removal from the stock shifter or installation in a new shifter.
The steel sleeve was seized to the bushing on mine and could not be freed up (even with PBR Blaster), so it had to be replaced at a whopping $4.12.
Lolly,
There is nothing to replace on the Katech unless the bushing comes apart during the bushing removal/installation like mine did. If the bushing was damaged on removal and reinstalled in damaged condition, then the person doing the install would be the creator of the problem, not the shifter.
