I accessed the thread, but I had to join, so I will be pissed if I get spam for GTO parts. Regarding your posts, expect to be bashed on any car enthusiast site that is not your own car's. I say you set up a race with a GTO owner on the site, sneak in a little NOS, and let the Caddy speak for itself.

^^^He was pissed off over the disrespect to him and/or the V. Bashing other car owners that post is a big part of any car forum. We do it here quite often.
Regarding Bob's build, I bet there are a few GTOs that are as quick or quicker than his, which proves the rule that someone also has more/better. The race you want is stock vs. stock, and if you have concerns, pad the odds by getting a tune, run with 108 octane, hide some spray, etc...

I mean the street race stories are just getting old...they are...that is what they are trying to tell you. No sense in trying to post a comeback like "at least ours are still getting made"..imagine a GTO owner going over to the other forum and telling a bunch of V owners their cars suck. They would get WAY more flak then you got over there!

1) who are you racing, some old fart that has never put the pedal to the floor
2) some guy with eggs in his trunk coming home from the grocery store and he does not want to **** off the wifey who is waiting to bake a cake
3) some dude with a wife next to him, or a kid in the backseat who will not run you
4) some dude who just got his second ticket last week and cannot afford to get another one today
5) some dude running on fumes who cannot nail the gas or he will be walking to the next gas station

These street kills are entertaining but lack authenticity, unless they are arranged, as way too many factors go unanswered to legitimize them. I love to debunk them, as many stories are BS, most would not have won due to specs vs. specs, there are unstated factors that are conveniently left out. Driving skills are an advantage, but for instance, a stock V will not beat any sport bike from 30-130mph, although I have seen it posted at least five times. By the way, the stories posted with runs up to 130/140mph are bullshit, you need an expressway/interstate with at least three lanes a side to consider such speeds, and if you live in a metro area, I seriously doubt if traffic allows for such during daylight hours, and if you are doing it at night, you better have a bunny out in front to watch out for Johnnie L. I live in Broward County, drive the least busiest of three North-South freeways/expressways/interstate every day to and from work, and there is rarely a stretch of open road that allows triple digits side-by-side races. Time slips from the strip are all that matter, unless you stage and film a race, and go at each other at least three times. I have some street kills, none up to 140mph, and realize I may not beat a comparable driver in an equally-matched car if his intent is equal to mine.
I enjoy your kills ADJ, keep posting as I will always comment, but many others have heard them all and want you to hit the strip or show some street vids before they appreciate the V.

Nice kill, I run with a Valentine in my V and an Escort 8500 in the C6, but would still rather run during daylight than at night, as you cannot check out what is behind you when it is dark. Sawgrass Expressway is less crowded than I-95 or the Turnpike, but still crowded unless midday or after 10 P.M.

i have raced a few gto's...never lost from a roll. Only time I lost was to a famed "great driver" he had a tune....I was completely stock, and on worn tires...still getting used to driving the car...and I was on his bumper from 0-120....
