finally made a choice.....CTSv ftw
ive been looking for a (fun) replacement for the wifes daily for a few months now. she currently drives an 05 TSX which has been a great car, no problems 34mgs on the hwy so, but we want something bigger and a bit more peppy. and ironically enough we can lower our payment but trading out of the TSX too, by sticking to our 20k budget.
so, CTSv ftw. after looking at SRT8's, M5s, denali's so on she likes the v the best.
my question being, what are some nice mods that you'd recommed for a daily driven V? she wants a nice exhaust, not too loud, but very thoaty. want to lower it a inch or so, and maybe a tune for when i drive it. also have any of you had to teach your 5'2 wife to drive 400/400 car before? she hot rods the TSX, but its litterally half the car the V is. LOL.
your thoughts?

Regarding exhausts, stay away from B&B, it is the loudest at WOT, also has drone while highway cruising. The others like Corsa and Magnaflow are a little less loud, I think Magnaflow is priced much lower. Get a UUC or Katech short shifter, be sure to get the bushings from Lindsay Cadillac in Alexandria, VA. My car is not lowered, someone else will chime in, Eibach and Ground Control have the aftermarket on this. Get a tune, better mileage, 15-20RWHP. Forget a CAI kit, no gains, waste of cash. Get her a radar detector, as cheaper than her first ticket.
Good choice, now ditch that rice and start saving for a Maggie.

ill be draggin it a few weekends of the summer, but 99% of the time its going to be my wifes daily. if she stands on it, is the TC system good enough to keep her safe or do i need to teach how to drive all over. shes never had anything nearly as powerful

Yep, pure genius, I bought my C6 for my wife also, but after putting headers, x-pipe and exhaust on it in the first week of ownership, she decided it was too loud for her.
For our 20th Anniversary next year, I am getting her a Viper, with full exhaust of course!!!

i just bought a V for my wife too, it was her mothers day present. i dont know how all will like it, but i just took my mufflers out. I really like the sound, and i dont think i want to fork out the dough on nicer mufflers. just me though. i drive a really loud cobra so to me her car is nice and quiet.
i agree with the others, cam, headers, 100 shot (personal preference) and call it a day.

No you won't! It's not a drag car period.
Yes you can start upgrading the rear axles to remove the hop, but at the end of the day, if you want to keep it as a daily driver you won't be dragging it.
Now take to a nice road course and now you have the right vehicle for the job.
