Spec 2 vs OEM LS7
What should I go with and why? The spec would get the billet flywheel, the LS7 would be the stock LS7 piece.
Both are going to run about the same price. So that aside, what will be my best bet for my mild DD car. Was also going to replace the pilot, TO, and slave while I was in there, along with the remote bleeder.
Thanks in advance fellas.

our spec is very grabby. After longer drives it tends to heat up and chatter like crazy on slower take offs. The good thing is it has never slipped and its been in almost a year with a few hard launches at the drags... numerous highway rolls

I just came from mustangs, and in that scene they're a pretty good clutch holding some big power. What makes them so bad?? I just don't see a full fced clutch with a steel flywheel being "grabby".... I just want this joke of a dual mass out of my car. I'm looking for some quicker revs along with a little increase in power holding.

My SPEC 3 wouldn't shift over 4k. SPEC told me it was a hydro problem. I replaced everything and still they blamed the hydros, transmission, or installer error. I used the same hydros when I installed my Exedy twin disc and have never had a single problem.

You're gonna ask 20 people about clutches and you're gonna get 20 different answers. I've never heard that someone didn't like the LS7 though, it's hard to beat an OEM clutch. That's what I'll be using but with a lighter flywheel. If you aren't going to be going crazy on power mods (basically anything short of FI), you should be fine.

Spec 3+ was the worst clutch ive ever had.
I will never buy another spec product.
I now have a LS7 and love it, Im running a ram 18lb flywheel.
It grabs nice when you want it to, but driveability and pedal feel is like stock.
got it as a kit from scoggin for around 600$ ( dont remeber the exact price)
Some say with a serious beating and track time the LS7 wont last. But it all depends on what tire + HP you have . Theres guys on here with cam and a bottle and their LS6 clutch is holding up....

Well, after some research ive decided to go with the SDPC LS7 & RAM aluminum flywheel kit for $560....
-TICK bleeder
-OEM LS7 slave
-OEM Pilot bearing
-PISNUOFF shifter w/ UCC bushings
-CS Tranny mount
and top it off with some AMSOIL ATF
should be a nice round of upgrades....

not worth it for me to pull the thing out and pay 250 for a retune since im cammed. my luck id do it and get it tuned and two weeks later the clutch would go lol. Ill wait and just do it all at once. to save on the next retune i hope to have:
FAst 92mm manifold
90mm throttle body
LS7 with lighter flywheel
Timing controller so i can run N/A timing everyday and have it pull timing automatically when i spray
Up the jets to 125-150 shot.
