Default Oil Temp. Running Hot

What would cause my oil temp to run hot. Checked the oil and it's only about 1/8th of a quart low and all other temp levels are where they should be. Any thoughts?

V has notorious grounding issue for that oil temp problem. Check the ground strap near the hood lift cylinder. Add a star washer. Sometimes there is a ground on the back of the head that comes loose as well. Lots of V owners have these faulty readings

Yeah the oil sensor problem with the V is well documented. Try a search on here or the cadillacforums.
