What plugs to run in my V??
I'm sure you guys have this thread in here somewhere, but what are the best spark plugs to run in my CTS-V? No nitrous or blower yet, just a lot of bolt-ons... I was thinking NGK's.

i just did mine this past weekend. bolt-on's here as well and i went with the NGK TR55 v-power. i didn't do the iridium which i'm kinda regretting because i'm not looking forward to changing them again.
allow plenty of time and have patience. this was my first time changing them on my V and it took about 1.5hrs/side. next time i should be able to do it in about 2hrs total

I have the D3 High Performance Quad Tipped Spark Plugs, and they are made by Torquemaster. They are iridium plugs, and if you go beyond bolts ones, they will provide you with plenty of spark. D3 designed these plugs to go on there modified Vs, and most of them are putting down so huge number. They are $15 per spark plug, so they are on the expensive side. but I really pleased with them. NGK are good for the money, but I have read that some people didnt like them. I could find one bad thing about these plugs in all the digging i did. I have them hooked up to Magnacore 8.5mm wires.

NGK TR55s FTW!! Gap to .034 in my .02
I tried E3s after all the peer pressure, idled rough, yank'd em.
Oh...don't waste the time, go ahead and pull the coil packs and dipstick, you'll thank me later if you've never done plugs on this thing. Just be careful putting the dipstick back in and make sure it goes in the oil pan.

i read a couple reviews on Amazon. but i want a Quad tip Iridium plug, and most of the better ones where 12 to 14 bucks per plug. i found D3 when i googled "performance cadillac parts" and that i found them. and after looking trough all the things they offered, and all the work the have done with each V series, i went with there plug.

Otherwise it will turn into 4hrs of cussing and bleeding trying to do plugs w/o removing the coil packs as a unit and the dip stick!!
Happy motoring!

My tuner has had several bad experiences with the iridium plugs. (He wouldn't elaborate any more than that) So I run the stock AC Delco plugs and change them every 15K. (Otherwise he won't touch the car) It's really not that difficult to change them after you do it a few times. As mentioned, removing the coil packs and dipstick is a must if you want to do it quickly.
My 95 Camaro with the headers was much harder.

I have put NGK plugs in all my vehicles. It started when I put them in my old modified lightning and was very impressed with them on how long they lasted and how smooth everything was. Since then I have put them in my fox body, my old modded harley F150 and will put them in the V when the time comes.

Guys, don't get suckered into marketing hype with plugs. A good quality 'regular' plug, properly gapped is all you need! I've run NGK's in my VR4 and been happy, but for the V (had GTO with LS2 I changed) I just use whatever is on sale, lol. [as in, there are neglible differences]. I've tried about every brand at one time or another and never noticed anything, seriously.
If you want to get ****, index your plugs and/or center the outer electrode...But really, more important is that the rest of your ignition (esp. wires) are up to par.

I have the TR55's cause I called gforce and asked them to send me whatever I should use for the V. I figured I could trust their judgement. Happy so far but I'm wishin I would have taken the time to check the gap. I didn't, and now it's buggin' me.
