Default pics of the 2 cars!

I just picked up the cobalt from the shop on the 1st.

Its very low on power right now with the stock ported Blower/ stock pulley!
I still need to dial in the tune and get it to idle at a decent rpm with the cams and break the motor in it has 210 miles on the new motor.

Here are some videos.

An idle clip. The car is idling around 1600 rpms i want to bring it down to 1100.

I love black cars, I just wish they never got dirty! Do you drive either in the winter?

Nice, cant wait to see it with a pulley or different blower. I raced a pullied/exhaust one yesterday and beat him pretty good on motor. Im sure yours will be nasty though.

It is defiantly sad with how much money there is in parts alone but its been this long sense i drove it last and i can wait a little bit to make big power down the road! I believe its a stock pulley record for corrected whp the car makes a little more hp then a stage 2 car or a 2.8 blower pulley car with supporting mods but the ported head is killing the torque with factory boost the car only see's 8-9 and slowly grows to almost 15 lbs bye 7800 rpms.

Team Dynamics sold by Luke at Lindsay. Only thing i dislike is that there is no center cap option and they are the same size as stock.

thanks!

The cobalt will be faster once all the kinks are worked out (and a different power adder). Im looking for 550whp the motor is good for 800. I only had the car for 2 weeks before i brought it back to the shop the new motor has very little miles. I never hammered on it was hoping to put 3,000 miles on the new motor before bringing it back to the track! Best time was 13.60 @ 102.5 mph but that was 4 years ago on a stock motor and a few bolt ons...

We will find out once the Head gasket fiasco is settled and the motor is broken in.

Not trying to be an *** but if the head gasket is already gone on a motor thats built for 800hp and you only made 250, how certain are you itll hold 500? Just asking.

well it made 250 with a blown head gasket and i found out last night why the head gasket blew a stud pulled out a stud that had been over torqued before so now im looking at either pulling the motor out and sending to the machine shop to have threaded sleeves pressed in or hoping just to pull the head and bring the whole car to the machine shop and see if they can do the work like that..

I like the Cobalt. It's a shame GM never put much faith in it as a SPORTS (vs. Economy) car ... more emphasis on SS (or hopped up like a GTO). It seems as though GM spends lots of R&D to come up with a new car model (and new name) ... then disposes of the product in a few years. Bummer!

My son was looking at a Cobalt SS in 2007 ... went with a MB C230 Sport (black / black / 6 speed) ... but the Cobalt SS would have been a nice choice as well!
