Default Headers

I looking to do a few more upgrages...I'm thinking a IW 8" crank pulley for sure and then possibly a cam and/or headers. If I was going to pull the trigger on headers I think I'd want HF cats but I'm not sure.

Has anyone found where to find the best deal on both Pacesetter(coated) with and without Cats and then also KOOKS with and without Cats??

Thanks.

I don't think pacesetter has any deals with cats, you would have to do something on your own with them, only options I have found for the pacesetters is the coating, and the extensions to bolt them up to a factory style cat back exhaust system

Amazon for Pacesetter headers and Ebay so far have been the cheapest. Their coating is only outside and not inside. My plan was to get Pacesetter headers and Jet-Hot coat em with no kitties, then a cam. Of course need a tune then.
Clifford @ Pascal performance (on the other site) has the best deals for Kooks and high flow cats. Last I saw was he had free shipping.

Kooks with out cat through MarylandSpeed are 1150 (3/4) and 1160 for the 7/8.

i paid 1575 for my 7/8, with HF Cats and Jet Hot coating (Sterling Silver 1700) on both headers and mids. subtract 200 for catless with the coating.

I've got the pacesetter's and they don't have a cats option, you would need to go to shop for that. The adapters for the stock cat back is only like 70 bucks. I'm running them coated with the stock catback and cutouts right before the resonator. It's loud when running open and pretty close to stock when they're closed. I love it. Cole and Stageup have heard them open so they can tell you how loud it is. The Pacesetter's are half the price of the kooks which is why I went with them. That's a cam for the price difference.

Here's the web address. They are coated. It took a while to get them but I wasn't in a hurry.

Fitment was good. Haven't thrown the car on the dyno yet to see numbers though.

me and ty got into a little bit a dicussion about this...

he will more then like wont see as much of a power increase with these compared to Kooks. think about 5hp/tq less. but he said since he only spent 450 buck compared to 1100, he has some extra money left for a cam and some laughy gas.

To add to this...It really depends on the plans for the car too, if you want to go big power then get the kooks in the 1 7/8ths. My plans are cam, head work, and bottle so I didn't see the need to spend the money.

good call.

if you want to stay N/A, Pacesetter is a nice cheap (not in a bad way) alternative to Kooks. but if you are planning on going F/I, or even think you might, it would be a bigger benefit to fork out the extra $$ and get the Kooks.
