Default bank 1&2 system too lean, intake manifold leaK?

My 05 V keep giving me a bank 1 bank 2 system too lean code, mods include K&N intake, long tube headers, 3" B&B no cats, xpipe... and a tune... i took it to a shop he used a stethoscope and said "your intake manifold has a small vacuum leak, which is causing the codes" and then he said that when air gets under the intake manifold you cannot just replace the gasket because usually the intake will be warped. that you have to buy another intake and gasket..

does this sound right? and this car is my DD, am i doing damage buy driving the car with these codes?

thanks Tim-

if the intake is warped, then yes you can do damage to it. when the engine heats and cools the metal contracts and expands. and this can cause the warp to get worse, which will lead to a nasty failure and cost you a lot more money to fix. you should get that fixed ASAP. you can find a LS6/2 intake on ebay or other placed for cheap. or just get a FAST set up .

hope she holds bro.

i have been told that the 01+LS1 has the LS6 intake, if this is true does that mean this one is the right one?

LS1 intake will fit the LS6, but you will lose power. most guys with the LS1 swapped to LS6 intakes because they have more air flow.

i was having the same problem but mine was my k&n intake, the hose clamp loosened up and moved a little allowing air to get in through the rubber hose. it wouldnt through the code all the time... but i fanally found it... just a suggestion to check placement and tightness of your clamps.. mine went crooked on the bottom...
