Default Roll raced a 2005 GTO and won easily

Driving down rt 100 to where it meets 202 in Exton, have two young kids following me in a 05 gto (hood scoops). Ls2 car. LOUDMOUTH exhaust (God I hate these with a passion) They are trailing me for about 5 miles. I hear him rev his motor at each light (my plate says GAM3 OVR) so he knows I will play. We finally get onto some open highway and slow down to a 40mph roll. I flash the three finger salute and 3 beeps later we're off. His car studders a hair and I was at the top of second gear (p;erfect start point FYI). Tires scratch into third, hit 4th look back and he is about 2-3 cars back and fading slowly. I let off just a few seconds into 4th and get the thumbs up and (wow that f$cker is fast) as they drive on. Finally catch a a real race in the caddy and she doesn't dissappoint.

Gotta think they had some boltons but no tune as that car shouldn't have hicupped on the start. Oh well.

bolt on ls2 goats with a tune trap over 110 if its a stick, id imagine an auto would be slightly slower without a stall. My guess is you raced an auto with an slp loudmouth and the studder was the auto downshifting.

That's what I'm thinking too. If he had any mods he woulda beaten you (I don't really count a catback as a mod since it really doesn't add power).

Did you see the taillights? Only reason I ask is because that is really the only way to tell an 05 from an 06.

GTO's are about 200 lbs. lighter than our CTS-V's, but use a 3.46 rather than a 3.73 diff gear ratio, so in the end it becomes a wash (Stock to stock, apples to apples). I had an 06 that I bought new and it was a decent performer, much like these cars. However, when it comes to oem brakes and handling, these caddy's shine in comparison (not saying GTO is bad, but ours are exceptional for factory and what it is). Plus, the back seat and huge trunk (damn US market holden monaros, aka pontiac GTO had to put the gas tank in trunk) sure are nice!

I don't think he was an automatic because when I turned off earlier to take a shortcut he revved it going by easily (coulda popped it into neutral I guess) but that is the only thing that makes me think it was a stick.

I am think now that it was just the LOUDMOUTH and thats it for mods. Probably an Auto too I guess now that I think about how I was pulling away.

What do catback stock 05 GTO automatics run quarter mile?

My buddy has a 04 GTO, long tubes, no cats, new era intake, stock LS6 manifold and ported TB, SLP 25%, shifter tuned of course. it's the sloppiest joke of a car I've ever driven lol. My V is practically stock and I get him by a car or so.

Not to mention they handle like crap and the brakes belong on a civic. Lol god they're gross. Ok I'm done.... =)

V > goat! Not only because I think the goats are over rated but because my buddy had an 06 6-spd goat with basic bolt-ons... (exhaust, intake, short throw, etc) and I put a couple cars on him in the V. Mine has the same mods.

Granted... I'm prob a better driver but the V also handles and brakes way better like said above!

The entire suspension on the goats is a joke, and every one of them will have to replace it, guaranteed. The 05-06 brakes are ok but the 04's are terrible.

A buddy has had an 05 GTO since new and has ran smack about how FAST it is and how no stock car around here will run with it. I took the V by the day I got it and took him for a ride....white knuckles and all he said it was "okay"....then proceeded to take me for a ride in the goat....It took me asking for 2 months to get a roll race out of him. First pull from 40 I got him by 2....2nd from 30 I got him by 3-4.....He then told some other people I jumped early and another group his clutch was slipping....The only chance I've had against a GTO and not impressed.

Your buddy needs to learn how to drive, you shouldn't be putting 4 cars on him.

Without a doubt....I have driven his car since then and I'd have to say it'd be a driver's race....Did feel good rubbing his nose in it a lil bit
