I have recently received permission from the "War Department" to go ahead and further modify our 06 CTS-V ... already have on a Magna-Flow cat back ... wanted to install a set of OBX tubes ... anyone out there ever try this combo? How much of an adventure am I looking at?

Cutouts have been the best of both worlds for me, although I tend to have them open more then closed... its still good to just close them up and enjoy the car as quiet as possible.

Much better sounding when you leave the stock resonator on.

Thought I'd share with you all the custom 3" s.s. cat-back setup I fabbed on my customers new CTS-V coupe. We had originally opted for a bolt on setup but every one we looked at was all 2.5" (which is the factory size) also the more we got looking at the factory tips the more we thought they looked out of place with the rear bodylines & angles so we threw around some ideas and this is what I came up with. If you want to check out another example of my exhaust fab work check out the 4" dual exhaust on 98' WS6 thread.

The muffler is Magnaflow (don't remember the part number??) dual in/dual out with an X built internally

I use these Vibrant V-band turbo clamps on all my exhaust for quick/easy removal & leakproof sealing

made the tip removable also using the V-band clamps

Since I finished it I also went ahead and had the inside thermo coated black satin as well as added a rolled lip to the edge. Don't have current pix or sound clip but as soon as it comes back I will record a short vid so you guys can hear it. It's pretty throaty! I think the next one I do for interested parties I may make the tip deeper in length.

Actually the thread starts of stating lets all post pictures & video.
I'm working on video next time it comes back to my shop I'll post new pix & video. I realize not everyone may like the looks of the tip - however thats what the customer wanted. Myself I think it looks way better than two round cannons that came factory. I cater to the customer - If they want to install round, oval, square, whatever I'll install it. To me, (i.m.o) the rear body lines of these CTSV are very angular (stealth bomber) looking and having round circular tips look out of place. The tip actually looks much better now that its coated black on the inside and has a rolled lip.
