Default New wheels!!!

I have been on the lookout for wheels ever since picking up my car. Checking here, craigslist and Ebay constantly. Well some wheels popped up on Ebay and I jumped on them with the quickness! I installed them today and am VERY pleased with the results. Let me know what you all think!

Ha ha, you went from the lighter more desirable accessory wheels to the heavier stock wheels.

Personally, I love the stock wheels and think they look better than the accessory wheels. Congrats!

PS. Ditch the nasty '04 antenna.

How much do you want for the wheels you took off? I could use a winter set...

Check my "WTB" ad in the CTS-V classifieds and look at the pictures of them I just uploaded. Then, PM me an offer.

I think the stock wheels look 100 times better than the GMPP wheels and didn't notice a huge weight difference when swapping them. It is all personal preference though. Oh well, to each their own.

My back window is tinted around the antenna so I doubt I will be removing it any time soon. Although I guess I could remove the outer half. The back window doesn't have a hole in it, right>???

lol, 5 lbs per wheel is not worth worrying about on a car thats 3900lbs. There is really nothing to pull out of our cars so 20lbs is a drop in the bucket.

Is there really a 5lb difference>??? I certainly didn't notice it! 5lbs or rotating weight is a decent amount actually!

Any idea what the dry weight of each stock wheel is (without rubber)?

actually about 1lb or rotational weight = 10lbs sitting. So 5lb off each wheel equates to almost a 200lb passenger. Yes wheel weight makes a HUGE difference

You will find all sorts of "thumbrules" like that on the intarweb, saying that 1# of wheel reduction = anywhere from 5# to 20# of overall weight reduction. It's harder to find math that will actually support those thumbrules. Here's one example (click on the "My spreadsheet" link). Based on his spreadsheet (which is admittedly an approximation), 5# per wheel would effectively save you ~55# (for all 4 wheels combined). As a demonstration of how that result varies depending on where the weight is (due to the moment of inertia), saving 5# per tire would effectively save you ~130#.

The GM Accessory wheels are ~22# (based on weighing them myself). I've read repeatedly that the stock wheels are ~3# heavier, but I've never weighed one myself.
