My new homemade short throw shifter.. *Video*
It was an extremely easy mod. I should have done this 5 years ago. Lol. Thanks to azn2dmax for the part numbers I needed to get this done. Throws are about 30% shorter now, and the car just feels like a whole other type of car. Powershifting is a breeze, and precision is excellent. I also threaded my lever so that I could use the gripper ****. The shifter is positioned in 2nd gear BTW. Check it out!...

I did exactly what AZN2DMAX does on his shifters. Only reason I did it was because I was taking my lever out to thread it for my new ****, and I couldnt wait for the azn2dmax to restock his shifters. So I made my own. Although, I would have rather paid azn2dmax to just make it for me. lol. Its easy to to modify the factory shifter, but I also see how a novice gearhead could easily screw it up as well. So just pay him to do it for you. Haa
This is what I did..
And I just took half an inch off the top of the lever. I would have taken a whole inch off the top of the lever, but the **** itself was shorter than stock. And well, Im more for function, than looks, and the honest truth is, a really short lever will not help when trying to make fast shifts during a 1/4 run.

Here is the lever positioned in neutral. As you can see, its about stock height, maybe 1/4"-1/2" shorter than stock. I hate short levered shifters, they perform like crap when trying to slam gears. So I kept my lever at almost stock height. Performs flawlessly...

I honestly didn't / don't make a lot of profit b/c people just kept their old shifters. My big startup cost was purchasing new shifters so the buyer wouldnt be out of a shifter and without paying a huge core charge. LOL I just did it for a service for the novice DIY'er b/c you can mess it up really bad if you do it wrong. (melting parts). It was common knowledge and I dont take full credit for it as I jacked it from someone else. Enjoy!!!
I have an even funnier mod if you want to add more weight to it and no welding required and only costs $3 at Harbor Freight. Pics to come.
